KDDI to offer WiMAX capable Samsung Galaxy S II
The Samsung Galaxy S II is one smartphone from South Korean conglomerate Samsung that has certainly garnered a whole lot of press when it was first revealed to the world, and I must say, the device has held its own pretty well to date. It proved to be quite the competitor to the Apple iPhone, and there are different variants of the handset released subsequently as well, including one that has LTE connectivity. KDDI of Japan will be getting a Galaxy S II that they can call their own soon, where it will rock with WiMAX connectivity. This is a very different handset compared to the Epic 4G Touch from Sprint (model number SPH-D710), thanks to the far higher resolution 4.7″ display that carries a cool 1280 x 720 resolution. Underneath the hood lies a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, an 8-megapixel camera at the back that is capable of 1080p video recording, a 2-megapixel camera in front for video calls, a microSD memory card slot and NFC support.
So, there is a new Samsung smartphone that is about to be released – big surprise, that, and I say this with full a sarcasm. Still, those who want something that looks to hang out on the high end side of things in terms of design and form factor, and yet having a mid-range performer within, can always settle for the Samsung Galaxy A9.
The handset has already appeared on the FCC database, which means it has been approved, and listed as the Samsung Galaxy A9. With the green light given, it is but a matter of time before it hits the market. If you would like to fancy your chances with an upcoming mid-range device that seems to hover more on the higher end scheme of things, then the Samsung Galaxy A9 would certainly fit you to a ‘t’, so to speak. After all, accessory manufacturer ITSKINS has shared more details concerning this device, with the Galaxy A9 touted to be a wee bit more compact as opposed to the Galaxy S7 Plus, never mind that both handsets will come with 6.0″ screens.
Measurements of the Galaxy A9 include 161.9mm x 81.3mm x 7.34mm, where it would be slightly taller than the Galaxy Note5, while sporting a metal and glass design, a fingerprint reader that should be able to handle mobile payments, a Full HD Super AMOLED display, and a Snapdragon 620 chipset, among others.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 will no doubt be a smartphone that many people would look forward to picking up when it is ready, taking into consideration how flagship devices are always in demand. Well, the Galaxy S7 has been said to target an early 2016 release, and some photos of the alleged device has already been snapped, although one should take into consideration that the original Weibo post is no longer there.
Of course, do take this particular leak with a pinch of salt, since it could be one of the numerous smartphones from various manufacturers that could roll out a similar looking handset. In the leaked photos, you can see a wrap-around metal border design, which seems to be the in thing at least for the next couple of years. All that we can do now is to sit tight and wait for the real deal to surface.
