Semi-tethered jailbreak for iOS 5 available

Published

on

Good news iPhone users, it looks like a semi-tethered jailbreak has finally be made available for iOS 5, meaning that iPhone owners not on the iPhone 4S (jailbreak for the iPhone 4S is still being worked on) will now be able to jailbreak their phones that is a cross between a tethered jailbreak, and an untethered jailbreak, hence the name “semi-tethered”.

The semi-tethered jailbreak will not bring about full functionality of an untethered jailbreak should you device reboot itself or shuts down while you’re out about during the day, and do not have access to your computer. It brings about limited functionality, such as:

1) Can use phone, sms (text messages)

2) Can use every other stock app on iphone.

3) Cannot use mobile safari

4) Can use other appstore web browsers such as atomic web browser

5) Cannot use mail app. You could install a gmail app from appstore or such instead.

6) You cannot use any jailbreak tweak, app, cydia until you boot tethered. While in the semitether booted state, you should not add a jailbreak ios5 notification such as sbsettings to notifications during this state or your device will be stuck in a respring loop until you get home to “boot tethered”.

For those looking to get a semi-tethered jailbreak on their iPhone, head on down here for the instructions and more information.

Have you grown up on a diet full of violent video games? Well, certainly Mortal Kombat is one of those franchises that shocked everyone when it was first released, where digital blood was spilled along the way. It definitely looks tame by today’s standards, but back then, it created quite a buzz in the video game industry, and then some. Having said that, Mortal Kombat X for iOS is now available to download from the App Store, where you can check out the striking graphics in the trailer above.

There will be 24 Kombatants to choose from, which should offer you plenty of opportunities to master all of them, and apart from fan favorites such as Scorpion and Sub-Zero, there will also be newcomers to the scene, Cassie Cage and Kotal Kahn included. Mortal Kombat X for iOS works great across platforms, so that players will be able to unlock content across all platforms as long as they play.

Sprint Reveals Combined iPhone-iPad “For Life” Deal

Published

on

sprint_logoIt was in October last year that the folks over at Sprint updated their iPhone for Life plan, where $80 a month would net you an Apple iPhone 6 on lease for a couple of years, alongside a plan that has unlimited talk, text and data. Of course, if you would prefer the larger iPhone 6 Plus, it would cost you from $85 monthly onward. It seems that Sprint intends to push the envelope further – at $100 a month, the iPhone 6, iPad mini 3, unlimited talk, text and data on the phone and 2GB of data for the tablet will be all yours.

If one were to run the numbers through a calculator, you would have to spend approximately $117 monthly, which means Sprint’s recently revealed plan would help you out with a 15% savings in total – that would amount up to $17. Of course, leasing the devices would mean you would need to make sure that your handset is more carefully taken care of than normal, but then again, you will always have the latest products at the end of a 2-year cycle. Not too shabby a deal, don’t you think so?
