Apple And IBM Join Forces, Offer Japan’s Elderly Customized iPads
Apple CEO Tim Cook, IBM CEO Ginni Rometty and Japan Post CEO Taizo Nishimuro did announce the deal in New York on Thursday, where this particular program will offer iPads with apps that have been specially designed in order to help out Japan’s seniors manage their daily lives, and at the same time, allow them to keep in touch with family members.
The special iPad software will allow Japan’s national Post Office Watch service to better monitor elderly clients, and IBM will also be the one behind the cloud services provided, with the collaboration between Apple and IBM resulting in the creation of 22 apps to date.
