Android M Will Set Update Life

It looks like in this day and age, if a company were to unveil a brand new smartphone operating system version, it would seem as though it was a sporting event instead. After all, there will be plenty of ears and eyes on the ground that are held in rapt attention, not to mention certain folks out there who are prone to start spinning the rumor mill, taking stabs at what the outcome will eventually be, and I am talking about this happening months before it even occurs. The Android M release is said to be imminent, and what are some thoughts that have been gathered so far?

For starters, folks do think that battery life and RAM usage will be the main draw of this version’s release, but here is news for you who think that you have discovered gold – this is not the first time such a theory has been put forward, and you can bet your bottom dollar that it will not be the last, either.

Apparently, a new report is going around that Android M will make it crystal clear as to how long a device will remain supported. It looks like Nexus devices will be on the receiving end of 2 years of major OS version updates, 3 years of security updates after the OS release, or 18 months after you pick one up from the Google Store, whichever is longer. Sounds decent enough, as most folks these days change their handsets once every two years to go along with their smartphone contracts.
