Microsoft Looks Into Gestures Beta App

Published

It looks as though Microsoft intends to introduce a spanking new beta app for recently released Lumia smartphones, where the Gestures Beta app would enable one to perform several key actions without even having to touch the screen, now how about that for convenience? For instance, you can answer an incoming call simply by holding it to your ear, and turning on the speakerphone as you place the handset face up on a table. Want to mute the microphone? Not a problem at all – just place it face down on a flat surface, and you’re good to go.

This spanking new Gestures Beta app would make use of the accelerometer and proximity sensors in selected, compatible handsets to figure out just where the phone is at that point in time. Microsoft intends to add support for additional gestures down the road, so that you can interact with your smartphone without even having to touch it. Right now, the Gestures Beta app supports the likes of the Lumia 535, Lumia 730, Lumia 735, and Lumia 830, with limited support thrown into the mix for the Lumia 530, 630, and 635.
