Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime Touted For June 2014 Release
It does seem as though the folks over at Samsung are not too content by folding their hands after seeing the release of their latest flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S5. Well, why do we say so? There are plenty of signs out there that point to the possibility of a new device from Samsung that will be known as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime. It does seem as though the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime will arrive with a jaw dropping 5.2″ QHD display that delivers a whopping 2,560 x 1,440 pixels at 564 ppi.
It will certainly look set to go one up on the already powerful Samsung Galaxy S5, and ought to be able to fend off the competition from the likes of the upcoming LG G3 smartphone. The South Korean model looks set to arrive with the company’s most recent octa-core Exynos 5430 chipset, where it will boast of quad 2.1GHz Cortex-A15 and quad 1.5GHz Cortex-A7 cores apart from an 600MHz ARM Mali GPU. So, there is a new Samsung smartphone that is about to be released – big surprise, that, and I say this with full a sarcasm. Still, those who want something that looks to hang out on the high end side of things in terms of design and form factor, and yet having a mid-range performer within, can always settle for the Samsung Galaxy A9.
The handset has already appeared on the FCC database, which means it has been approved, and listed as the Samsung Galaxy A9. With the green light given, it is but a matter of time before it hits the market. If you would like to fancy your chances with an upcoming mid-range device that seems to hover more on the higher end scheme of things, then the Samsung Galaxy A9 would certainly fit you to a ‘t’, so to speak. After all, accessory manufacturer ITSKINS has shared more details concerning this device, with the Galaxy A9 touted to be a wee bit more compact as opposed to the Galaxy S7 Plus, never mind that both handsets will come with 6.0″ screens.
Measurements of the Galaxy A9 include 161.9mm x 81.3mm x 7.34mm, where it would be slightly taller than the Galaxy Note5, while sporting a metal and glass design, a fingerprint reader that should be able to handle mobile payments, a Full HD Super AMOLED display, and a Snapdragon 620 chipset, among others.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 will no doubt be a smartphone that many people would look forward to picking up when it is ready, taking into consideration how flagship devices are always in demand. Well, the Galaxy S7 has been said to target an early 2016 release, and some photos of the alleged device has already been snapped, although one should take into consideration that the original Weibo post is no longer there.
Of course, do take this particular leak with a pinch of salt, since it could be one of the numerous smartphones from various manufacturers that could roll out a similar looking handset. In the leaked photos, you can see a wrap-around metal border design, which seems to be the in thing at least for the next couple of years. All that we can do now is to sit tight and wait for the real deal to surface.
