The NSA Might Actually Be Able To Tap Into Your BlackBerry Email

The NSA is not an entity that many people look upon with a smile on their face. No sir, it does seem that the overall sentiment about the NSA has proven to be more on the negative rather than positive side. In fact, German news magazine Spiegel has shared a potentially “blockbuster” claim – that the NSA has the ability as well as capability to tap into your smartphone, rummaging through it for information such as SMS traffic, location data, and even your contact list information among others.

Reportedly outlined in internal NSA documents, it seems that iOS and BlackBerry devices were specifically called out as targets, where it does seem to suggest that the NSA is capable of tapping into the BlackBerry email system. BlackBerry officials obviously did not want to comment on such allegations, but they did inform Spiegel that they have not opened up a “‘back door’ pipeline to the NSA to their platform.
