Every single smartphone comes with its own selling point, even if it does not reside on the high end side of things. Well, Moto X has a perceived major selling point, and that would be the Moto Maker tool, where it enables one to customize your device through the clever choice of colors for the back plate, front plate, and accents, in addition to its wallpapers and of course, the big daddy of them all – custom engravings. Unfortunately, according to ComputerWorld’s J.R. Raphael, that last bit might very well be in trouble at the moment.
Raphael shared, “Custom engraving won’t be available on the Moto X at launch. During beta testing, the company determined the quality of the printing wasn’t meeting its standards and decided to pull the plug on it for now.” Right now, we have no idea on when will custom engraving make a comeback, but Motorola did claim that it will be “soon”.
