Samsung Takes Over Nokia’s Top Spot In Finland Market

Published

There is always a first time for everything, and this week marks the first time that Nokia actually gave up their top position in their home market of Finland to Samsung in terms of phone market share. Research firm IDC reported that sometime in the first quarter of this year, Nokia actually managed to move 196,000 devices compared to Samsung’s 211,000 units that were sold. The difference is not all that big, but one ought to take into consideration that Nokia’s market share in its home country has dropped to 33.6% from its previous high of 48% just a year ago.

Samsung has certainly done well for itself in terms of being the manufacturer to beat where the global market is concerned, and Nokia, the likes of Apple, Motorola, HTC and BlackBerry, too, have “suffered” at the hands of Samsung. Is there no stopping the Samsung juggernaut?
