It was sometime in March when HTC lifted the veil on their HTC One Developer Edition in the US, although back then, there was no mention of the device’s launch date. I guess all of it has been revealed at this morning’s Facebook event, which saw the introduction of Facebook Home, as well as the first smartphone that will run Facebook Home, which would be the aptly named HTC First. During that event, a HTC spokesperson did mention about the HTC One Developer Edition, touting that it will begin to ship from April 19th onwards, which incidentally, happens to be the very same day that AT&T as well as Sprint will roll out the HTC One to the masses.
You will have to pay more for the HTC One Developer Edition considering it comes SIM and bootloader unlocked, to the tune of $649 actually. If you were to compare this model with the AT&T’s version of the 64GB HTC One, that is going for $299.99, albeit on a 2-year contract.
