Based on the affordable price tag of the Google Nexus 7 and its pretty decent hardware specifications, we’re sure many are wondering what Google might have in store for its successor. While an official announcement has yet to be made, Reuters claims to have gotten information about the next-gen Nexus 7 from their sources. According to their sources, Google could be looking to launch the next-gen Nexus 7 sometime in July, although no specific dates were mentioned. As expected the next-gen Nexus 7 will come with hardware upgrades, namely a better display with higher resolution, and supposedly will see thinner bezels and give off an edge-to-edge effect. Their sources go on to claim that the Nexus 7 will still be made by ASUS and that instead of going with NVIDIA’s Tegra 3, the next-gen Nexus could instead turn to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon series of chipsets instead. Apart from that, not much else is known about the device. Sounds like some pretty interesting upgrades, and we have to wonder if we will see a change in the design or if Google/ASUS will stick to the current design but with some minor changes. In any case take this with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think?
