Google recently filed for an application with the USPTO, where this application is meant for a “Device, System and Method for Image Capture Device using Weather Information”. Sounds like a mouthful, but when you decide to break it down, it is a simple and yet effective idea. In other words, by relying on data from the handset’s GPS system, while taking into consideration current weather conditions, the settings on a camera is able to change dynamically and automatically so that you are able to snap the best quality photos possible, in a dummy-proof manner!
Makes perfect sense, and this is definitely more than workable considering how most folks do not even bother to manipulate the controls on a smartphone’s digital camera, including White Balance, ISO and exposure balance. Does this mean the megapixel race will be effectively ended, and a more artistic flair is achieved with smartphone cameras?
