Verizon has had its fair share of Android-powered smartphones in the past, but this does not mean that they are going to slow down anytime soon. Well, having an Android-powered smartphone is one thing, but to make sure that it is well supported after a year of hitting the markets is another issue altogether. The Motorola Droid 4, having launched in the US via Verizon early last year, did arrive with Android 2.3 Gingerbread in tow, although it picked up the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update later on. Since then, the handset had more or less remained stagnant on the software front, and to hear of the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX pick up Android 4.1 Jelly Bean recently would certainly cause the green eyed monster to arise.
Good to know that there are whispers of Verizon readying the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Droid 4, and while Motorola did confirm a Jelly Bean appearance for the Droid 4 before, there was no concrete date attached to that promise, so this could very well be it!
