Frozen Android Handsets “Talk” Too Easily

I have heard of humans being tortured so that important information can be extracted from them, and this tends to happen in times of war more often than not, but who would have thought that “torturing” smartphones, too, would be able to yield a somewhat similar result? Well, we are not exactly going to waterboard an Android-powered smartphone per se, but it seems that freezing one of these devices would make its contents vulnerable to copying.

Trust the German security researchers to stumble upon this particular discovery, where they froze the handset for an hour in order to find a way around the encryption system which offers protection for the data on the device that scrambled it. Freezing the handset until it cooled to below -10 Celsius would force the handset into a vulnerable mode, allowing one to boot it up via custom-built software instead of the installed Android operating system. Do you get chills down your spine reading about this?
