Samsung Galaxy Note 3 To Sport Octo-Core Processor

It goes without saying that the number of lawsuits filed against each other all over the world last year between Samsung and Apple makes them less than bosom buddies, and with Apple hoping to reduce their reliance on Samsung, so too, is Samsung working to lower its reliance on orders from Apple to keep itself afloat in this highly competitive category. In a nutshell, there could be many more devices that run on Samsung’s Exynos processors down the road if Samsung has got all of their shoulder rubbing techniques right at the recently concluded CES 2013.

Not only that, the recently unveiled Exynos 5 Octa, being an eight-core processor, will also be the chipset running the show for the future Samsung Galaxy Note 3 that launches later this year. This will see a quartet of high-performance cores with four low-consumption ones working together, achieving what Samsung claims as delivering the best of both worlds. While only one set of four cores can be active simultaneously, this makes it a faux octa-core CPU, but it still packs quite some muscle.

Other speculated features of the Galaxy Note 3 include a 6.3-inch touchscreen display, which will surely cause Huawei’s Ascend Mate to cower in shame.
