If you’re in the market for a new smartphone and you don’t think you want to be spending too much, Samsung has recently taken the wraps off the Galaxy Express, a mid-ranged Android device whose name should not be confused with AT&T’s 2012 offering. However upon first glance you might mistake it for the Galaxy S3 Mini but that’s pretty much where the buck stops. Pricing and availability have yet to be determined, but a rough time frame of Q1 2013 is expected and it should be making its way into both European and Asian markets. No word on a US release but we expect that its name will probably have to be changed if it happens. As far as its hardware is concerned, the Galaxy Express features a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM along with a 4.5″ WVGA Super AMOLED display on board. It will pack 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded via microSD, a 5MP rear-facing camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, both LTE and NFC connectivity and will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board.
