[CES 2013] In the madness covering the press conferences at CES yesterday, we have managed to uncover a few new devices from Huawei, where among them include the Windows Phone 8-powered Huawei Ascend W1. Yes sir, the Ascend W1 is no pushover when it comes to hardware specifications, but then again, neither is it going to be a powerhouse and top the list of flagship Windows Phone 8 devices, either. For starters, the 10.15mm thin Ascend W1 will come with a 4-inch IPS LCD 480 x 800 touchscreen with OGS Technology, run on a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8230 processor and accompanied by the Adreno 305 GPU, all being handled by a 1950 mAh battery that ought to deliver decent battery life for a day’s work, as is the norm with most of the other smartphones out there.
No idea on pricing or availability Stateside, as the Huawei Ascend W1 has been scheduled to be released in China and Russia first later this month, although it is set to arrive in Western Europe, Middle East, USA and other selected countries in due time. [Press Release]
