When it comes to the world of smartphones, competition can get pretty keen and tough, and so it is no surprise to hear that LG’s latest ad campaign saw the LG Optimus G slice through an apple in half, and the meaning behind such an ad is obvious – just buy LG’s smartphone, and forget all of the iPhones that are set to roll out. Of course, some folks think that that this particular ad campaign was done in poor taste, as it does seem to go against LG’s initiatives that want a unified front in brand and marketing strategy while promoting the entire family to claim “global” standards. After all, the iPhone manufacturer maker is one of LG’s business clients, and Chairman Koo Bon-moo did ask for “synergy” between affiliates in the past.
The newspaper ad that LG Electronics released came with an accompanying slogan that reads, “A moment’s choice will decide your next two years,” hoping that this statement would make you think twice – nay, three times about purchasing their products over Apple’s. Do you think this will make a dent in Apple’s worldwide foray in the smartphone scene?
