In an about turn (which would certainly have brought relief to many along the way, I believe), Instagram has blogged that they will not be selling any photos uploaded on Instagram as described in their updated privacy policy and terms of service. indicated that Instagram would have the right to sell any photos uploaded on Instagram to advertisers without giving any compensation to the photo’s owners. Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom said, “As we review your feedback and stories in the press, we’re going to modify specific parts of the terms to make it more clear what will happen with your photos.”
Not only that, Systrom assured users of the popular service that Instagram is looking to “experiment with innovative advertising” methods and the Terms of Service are being in the process of being modified in order to reflect that. Will this be reassurance enough for you to continue using Instagram?
