HTC DLX “phablet” for Verizon gets pictured in leaked photo

It seems that “phablets” are no longer considered novelty gadgets as Samsung has decided that the Note was popular enough to warrant a sequel, while LG hopped aboard the bandwagon with the Vu and the Vu 2, and it seems that HTC wants in on the game too with the DLX. For those wondering why the device above looks familiar, it’s because the HTC DLX is basically the Verizon version of the HTC J Butterfly which was unveiled in Japan not too long ago. However in this case you can see that this handset looks similar in design but sports Verizon’s badge at the top. Hardly surprising considering that it was rumored a while back that the J Butterfly could be making its way onto Verizon in the future. So what sort of specs are we looking at here?

Assuming that the HTC DLX is essentially the same phone as the HTC J Butterfly, would-be owners can expect a 5″ Full HD “Super LCD 3” display, a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor under the hood with 2GB of RAM accompanying it, 16GB of RAM that can be expanded via microSDHC, an 8MP rear-facing camera, and a 2MP camera in the front. It will also feature NFC and LTE connectivity and a 2,020mAh battery and should come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean preinstalled. No word on its release but we’ll keep our eyes peeled, so check back with us later for the details!
