When you name your smartphone “Stellar”, most folks would have high hopes for it. I guess one would say that the Samsung Stellar which is headed for Verizon Wireless is not exactly the best example in terms of groundbreaking performance. In fact, it is downright mediocre – entry level, even. After all, for free ($50 before a $50 mail-in rebate), the Samsung Stellar will feature a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a 4” WVGA display, a disappointing 3.2-megapixel camera at the back (industry standard is at least 8-megapixels these days) and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, Wi-Fi connectivity and a microSD memory card slot. The saving grace for the Samsung Stellar? LTE connectivity, which is rather surprising since most LTE-enabled handsets are rather beefed up, specs-wise at least. [Press Release]
