What you see above is an image courtesy of the Verge, where they claim that this is a leaked photo of the upcoming HTC Proto smartphone which is touted to be an entry level handset, taking off from where the HTC One V left off. While it might carry a similar resolution count (WVGA), the HTC Proto goes one up on the HTC One V with a 4” touchscreen display, not to mention a beefed up processor – we are talking about a dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8225 S4 processor here. As for the number of RAM, it remains the same at 512MB alongside a 5-megapixel shooter located at the back of the phone.
Those who have a pair of eagle eyes would deem the HTC Proto to come with more rounded sides to deliver a softer look. As for the “chin” of the handset, it has been done away with altogether, while a soft touch coating at the back has been liberally applied. This is definitely a step in the right direction when it comes to continuing where the HTC One V left off, be it in terms of aesthetics or hardware specifications. Now all we need to do is wait for an official announcement for the HTC Proto.
