Samsung announces Galaxy S3 Developer Edition for Verizon owners

The Samsung Galaxy S3 from Verizon is one hot ticket item at this point in time, but if there is one grouse by power users against Verizon, it would be the carrier’s position on the locked bootloader for the Galaxy S3 which seemed to be rather frustrating to developers. Good thing Samsung has a soft spot for developers, and have announced that they will be selling a special unlocked Galaxy S3 Developer Edition especially for Verizon users only.

The Developer Edition of the Galaxy S3 will be very different from the standard issue Galaxy S3 on Verizon Wireless, as it cannot be purchased with a 2-year contract and subsidies, meaning you will have to hand over the full $600 retail price. All in the name of making sure you are dead serious in dabbling with custom ROMs, no? There is a caveat emptor though, as Samsung will not offer any warranty should you brick the Galaxy S3 with non-Samsung software during your more experimental moments in life.
