Amazon works on iPhone rival

You can say that when the iPhone was first released in 2007, it certainly rocked the market, never mind that it did not have 3G connectivity, and neither had it the many features available on handsets by other manufacturers. Still, it was the user interface and the App Store that were the winning hands for the iPhone, and ever since then, the rest of the world has more or less played catch up with the iPhone in terms of overall desirability. It has been revealed that Amazon.com is interested into entering this highly competitive market, with Google’s Android operating system and Windows Phone from Microsoft as well.

Foxconn is said to be one of the partners in churning out this Amazon smartphone, but plans concerning it will remain private at the moment. Amazon hopes to complement the smartphone strategy through the purchase of patents which will make sure the area of wireless technology is well covered. How do you think the Amazon smartphone will fare in the general market?
