It seems that more than just a minority of Sony Xperia owners have experienced the ugly side of the latest Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update – as the LED notification light no longer works whenever the screen remains locked, and there is an incoming text message or email. The strange thing is this – if there is a text message or email coming your way when the screen is turned on, the LED notification would work just fine, which is pretty much redundant when you think about it. Not only that, the LED notification would also work just fine whenever there are missed calls to your phone, regardless of whether the screen remains turned on or not.
It seems that the latest Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich software update’s bug affects those from the Xperia arc S, Xperia pro, Xperia ray, and Xperia neo V community amongst others. I guess those who have not made the update will most probably hold back until it is resolved. Sony Mobile says that they are aware of the issue, and will be making the necessary amendments in due time. Hopefully soon, that is.
