Sony ST21i Tapioca Specs Confirmed via Benchmarks
We heard about an upcoming Sony entry-level smartphone called the ST21i last week. The device which carries the codename Tapioca seems to have found its way to a person who has decided to post up some benchmark results on the internet for all to see. Given that the device is yet to be announced, it might be interesting.
The alleged specifications of the smartphone are an 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, a 3.2-inch 320 x 480 touchscreen display, a 3MP camera and it is said to be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Since the benchmark that is used is the Nenamark one and the results would eventually find their way to someone on the internet we now can see that the specs have been pretty much confirmed.
While the results which are posted above doesn’t reveal all that we would need to know for the device which could be the lowest-end smartphone Sony will have for the remainder of the year, certain specs like the processor speed, screen resolution and the android version have been confirmed with some additions like the fact that the processor is by Qualcomm and it will also contain an Adreno 200 GPU.
Given Sony’s naming strategy so far, the phone codenamed Tapioca might find itself in either the Xperia S, P or U range or the Xperia Sola or Arc range. Somehow the Sony Xperia Tapioca doesn’t really seem like a very good name.
