If you’ve ever played Sonic the Hedgehog on your old Sega Game Gear, you’d know the hours of joy it brought along with it. Now it seems that Sega itself with the help of Nvidia has brought Sonic 4: Episode II to Android devices that are running a Tegra 3 processor. The game which launches today apparently brings multiplayer co-op modes and offers “graphics-boosting optimizations” as well. According to Nvidia, the latest game brings graphics that are the level that can only be found on consoles.

The game apparently shows off the gold-ring catching abilities of the loveable blue hedgehog and his dual-tailed sidekick aptly named, ‘Tails’. As for the antagonist, the facial-haired Dr Robotnik is also featured in Sonic 4: Episode II. Nvidia even suggests that if you want to crank up the experience a notch or two, you can hook up your device to a wireless gaming controller and defeat the evil doctor on a TV for what is called “console-quality” gaming. If you want to get your hands on the $6.99 game that is optimized for Tegra 3 Android devices, click here to head to TegraZone.
