Samsung’s Galaxy S3 for Verizon to be Dual-Core?

Following a previous rumor that indicated the Samsung Galaxy S3 which is to be launched in London tomorrow will in fact have a dual-core processor just for the devices that make it to the states, now another bit of information comes to substantiate that rumor a little more. A newly published user agent profile for what might be Verizon’s version of Samsung’s upcoming flagship phone indicates that it isn’t powered by Samsung’s Exynos quad-core processor but a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon one. While that has not been confirmed in anyway by an official statement from either Samsung or Verizon, among the other specifications are the 1280 x 720 resolution display and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Of course while this might come as a bit of a deal breaker to some given that the current top-notch Android device by HTC also underwent the same process to make its way over to the US, the MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 is by no means a slouch so we don’t really think that it should affect your decision to continue to look forward to the flagship phone that will launch globally tomorrow. The purported model number that was leaked from Verizon carries the same prefix of SCH-I5XX as other Samsung devices do on the carrier such as the Galaxy Nexus (SCH-I515) and the Droid Charge (SCH-I510). In this case what is thought to be Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy S3 carries the internal model number of SCH-I535.
