For all you Samsung smartphone users who have been craving for their piece of the sweet and succulent Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, it seems that Samsung has been communicating closely with the local carriers as well as Google to announce a list of devices that are to receive their Android version upgrade “as quickly and as smoothly as possible”. That said however, only the devices that are to receive the update have been announced but there are no specific dates highlighted to indicate when the update will actually land.

We’ll start with the devices running on AT&T, the Galaxy S II (SGH-i777), Galaxy S II Skyrocket (SGH-i727), Galaxy Note (SGH-i717), Captivate glide (SGH-i927) and Galaxy Tab 8.9 (SGH-i957). As for Sprint the two devices which will receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich are the Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch (SPH-d710) and the Nexus S 4G (SPH-d720) which apparently is already available at the time of publication. As for Verizon, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 (SCH-i905) and 7.7 (SCH-i815) are in the list of devices to receive their taste of ICS. Finally for carrier-related devices, T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy S II (SGH-t989), Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G (SGH-t769), Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus (SGH-t869) and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (SGH-t859) will be receiving their update in due time.

As for Samsung tablets running on Wi-Fi that will be receiving the update, they are the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus Wi-Fi (6210), Galaxy Tab 8.9 Wi-Fi (P7310) and Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi (P7510) will also be getting it. As we mentioned above, with the exception of the Nexus S 4G (SPH-d720), there has been no announcement as to when the devices will be getting their bump up to Android 4.0 but rest assured, at least now you know that it is eventually coming to your device.
