New Lumia 900 Ad Hints at Windows Phone 8 Live Tile Functionality

A new advertisement for the Nokia Lumia 900 turned some heads today while it was strutting around doing its thing. The thing that caught several viewers’ attention was the fact that the Tiles shown on the phone’s interface were spinning around showing various features. The Live Tiles in the ad showed two things, the ‘contacts’ tile flips and says “Meet up with Sarah” and the ‘photo hub’ tile flips, and splits into two; one with a ‘latest’ photo while the other had a count of the photographs in the hub.

For anyone who has used a Windows Phone, you will be able to clarify that Live Tiles do neither of these things yet in the advertisement, they are. For the sake of being rational we could put this down to an error by someone who went trigger happy with Photoshop. However, if this is a look into what users can expect from the much rumored Windows Phone 8 Apollo, that is a chance as well. While we cannot be sure of anything right now, the advertisement does show something quite impressive and if it is an accident, we hope Microsoft does implement the change to make it part of its upcoming OS. In addition to that, if it is indeed a mistake, we hope Nokia will let us know about it so we don’t end up getting our underwear in a bunch over nothing.
