Case Marine: 0.25mm-Thick Waterproof Soft Case for iPhone and Galaxy S2
Gooma a company from Japan has released a soft water-proof case for Apple’s iPhone 4/4S and Samsung’s Galaxy S2. The case which allegedly has a waterproof rating of IPX8 which is the highest class awarded by Japan Industrial standards is only 0.25mm thick. The soft case that is so thin it can fit beneath yet another case without interfering with it is called the Case Marine and it is made from polyurethane with what is called a “special finish” As for the part of the case that covers the screen, it is made from acrylic and according to the marketing blurb, with some “practice” you will be able to slide your phone into it in 5 seconds.
It will apparently keep either your iPhone or Galaxy S2 completely waterproof down to a depth of 10m. For now, there is no word as to whether or not the cases will be making their way over to the US but the company is also in the works for an iPad version of the case which will be priced at 4,000 yen ($50) as opposed to the Premium version of the case for the iPhone and S2 is priced at 3,000 yen ($37) while the Lite version will cost 1,200 yen ($15).
