Amazon Rumored to be Prepping 8.9-inch Tablet For Later in the Year

After it’s vastly successful 7-inch Kindle Fire last year the Android powered tablet became one of the more popular tablets in the overall market. Now apparently, a source who claims to be in the know, told Reuters that Amazon is in the planning stages to debut an 8.9-inch tablet which is said to come out later in the year.

Besides that, no other details were revealed with regards to specifications or its pricing details. However, the source also claimed that we will be able to see the larger device some time “closer to the holiday season”.

Beyond that, the source also mentioned the much rumored Kindle eReader with which is said to have a front light that is said to make nighttime reading easier and it will be apparently be available in Wi-Fi and 3G variants. He also said that the front-lit eReader will be launched in July. As for the pricing, the source said that it will be maintaining its price tag from earlier devices or it will be bumped up by just a small amount.

Of course, as usual with rumors and speculations or even leaks that arrive in this manner, it would be good to take it with a pinch of salt until something official comes out way.
