Skype for Windows Phone Will Run on Nokia Lumia 610

Initial reports about the newly updated Skype app for Windows Phones brought about news that the application would not be usable on the Nokia Lumia 610 due to its low memory. According to Nokia on the other hand, Skype seems to be running just fine on the device and it is in good time since the device is just about to be released in Asia for sale and the Finnish company does not need another reason that would affect its sales.

The new official version 1.0 Skype for Windows Phone is extremely attractive with the integration of the Metro style UI and reports indicated that with low memory devices like Lumia 610, users will not be able to receive texts or video chat requests unless the app is running. But due to a purported design flaw in Windows Phone 7, the Skype app cannot run in the background.

Hopefully with the upcoming Windows Phone 8 OS, that ridiculous “flaw” is fixed so that users of the Nokia Lumia 610 can take advantage of all the new and gorgeous features Skype has to offer. Of course that will be possible if the Lumia 610 will be getting the bump up to Windows Phone 8 which is not certain for now.
