No Ice Cream Sandwich for Motorola Droid Razr and Razr MAXX Soak Test
Motorola Droid Razr and Razr MAXX owners, you might have been going through a soak test earlier and you should be happy to know that Motorola is rolling out an update for your device. However, it isn’t what you were waiting for. Unfortunately, the update that will be rolling out tomorrow will be build 6.12.181 which is said to include many enhancements and bug fixes. According to Motoring Crunch, below is the substantial changelog which seems like it fixes many things.
Device performance has been optimized for a more effective battery life; new MotoCast widget has been added along with several fixes to improve performance, storage settings screen has been tweaked to clarify total available and use storage space, IPv6 support implemented over cellular connection and Wi-Fi to facilitate updated interaction with the network, corrected 4G coverage indicator to display data connectivity more accurately and Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity improved while on WPS security, visual voicemail performance with data disabled improved along with visual voicemail notification delivery, corrected the loud call end and connect tones over Bluetooth, tweaked text messaging to ensure timely receiving of texts, easy access bookmarks added to browser by pressing and holding ‘back’ key, enhanced device security preventing unauthorized access of telephony database by 3rd parties and finally, updated Vcast app with new security enhancements.
Judging by that avalanche of fixes that Motorola seem to have carried out for your device, it might just soothe your disappointment at not being able to receive the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich just yet.
