Kindle Fire is dominating all Android Tablets

Android tablets were given a run through in a study recently and the report indicated that a big share of the market was dominated by Amazon’s Kindle Fire with more than 50% of the market share. The study which was carried out by comScore was released on Thursday with the figures. The closest rival to the Kindle Fire was the Samsung Galaxy Tab range of tablets which is in a distant second place with 15.4% of the market share which is down from 19.1% in the previous month. The only Android tablet that did not see a drop in market share was the Asus Transformer which rose 0.1% from 6.2%.

Besides the Samsung Galaxy range of tablets and the Kindle Fire, not one other Android tablet exceeded the 10% figure. If it wasn’t for the Kindle Fire, the entire market would be dominated by Apple’s iPad which already accounts for 60% of the entire tablet market as of Q4 in 2011. With many Android tablets rumored for release this year the numbers will probably change but for now, the Android side of tablets are being kept afloat by Amazon’s Kindle Fire but only just.
