Galaxy Note Ad Called Most Effective in Q1

Published

on

The advertisement for the Galaxy Note of the first quarter of this year proved to be the most effective one in an open category according to Ace Metrix. The advertisement beat a Doritos ad as well as an M&Ms ad to take the top spot. While advertising effectiveness is a very subjective category, Ace Metrix came up with a system that seems to convey the right results based on factors that are relevant.

The participants of Ace Metrix’s survey were asked to measure persuasion, relevance (to advertised product) watchability and a few other characteristics. Ace Metrix then took the compiled data and rated it on a scale from 0 to 950. The advertisement for the ‘phablet’ scored 686 while the other 2 tied with a lower 671. As many might have observed, Samsung’s fiercest rival, Apple which is usually considered to have great advertising was nowhere near the top of the list.

It will be interesting to see how Samsung and Apple both try to affect the majority with their advertising prowess especially with both their flagship products coming up soon. According to Ace Metrix CEO Peter Daboll, “Samsung’s top-ranked ad was particularly brilliant because it conveyed information and innovation without a narrator.” For your viewing pleasure, the winning advertisement has been embedded above.
