CyanogenMod team picks a new mascot
For CyanogenMod 9 users, we have good news for you; your new mascot that has been tentatively named ‘rAndy’ will feature on a nightly ROM as well as the team’s website over the next few weeks. The team of developers chose Caio Avles’ design for a new logo and mascot and it will probably feature on CyanogenMod 9 Ice Cream Sandwich which the team is currently putting their special final touches on.
Distribution of ROMS go the more popular devices first before releasing to others but since CyanogenMod releases its code for any other developer to download, there are plenty of unofficial versions for devices even like the Nook Color and the HP TouchPad. Although the ROM has taken longer to release than first expected the builds are mostly complete by now. The CyanogenMod team which is famous for being a collective of perfectionists reassures users that although the mascot has changed, the ROM will still maintain its namesake’s characteristic hue.
