850,000 Android Devices Activated Daily

Google CEO Larry Page has given the Investor Relations blog a little bit of an update on how Google is currently doing and obviously, he had many good things to say. But among all of that, his highest praise was for Google’s mobile OS, Android which as he puts it “is on fire” and is activating over 850,000 devices a day. He brings back the original idea around Android which was to build their services one phone at a time with the purpose of bringing forth a standard that operators and manufacturers alike could build devices around.

With 55 OEMs under their belt, it seems that the global search giant is succeeding on that front as well. Besides, that Page also mentioned Google’s recent acquisition of Motorola Mobility stating that the company is excited about the opportunity to build great devices with Android and Motorola along with their long history of technological innovation.
