Having a great app store, a great platform and great hardware doesn’t really mean much when the amount of people accessing your services is limited to a handful of countries, which is why if you were thinking of adopting Windows Phone as your next platform of choice, Microsoft has recently announced the availability of the Windows Phone Marketplace in 13 additional new countries.

This includes Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Croatia, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, and Venezuela, which when included with the recently launched markets in Argentina, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Peru, and the Philippines brings the total number of markets Windows Phone Marketplace is available in to 54! The Windows Phone Marketplace at the moment features about 70,000 apps. This pales in comparison with their competitors, iOS and Android, both of whom feature several hundreds of thousands of apps, although Microsoft’s recently leaked marketing strategy would have the company emphasize on its quality, rather than quantity.
