Tag Heuer Racer luxury Android smartphone announced

As far as smartphones are concerned, Tag Heuer might not necessarily be the brand you think of, but that has not stopped the company from releasing several phones in the past. Well this time around, it looks like they’re back with the Tag Heuer Racer, an Android based smartphone that has apparently been inspired by both GT and Formula 1 racing cameras, boasting “unparalleled torsion” and “strength to weight ratio”, terms usually reserved for describing sports cars.

Interestingly, it seems that despite it being a luxury phone, it will sport a shockproof rubber chassis accentuated by lightweight carbon fiber and titanium screws, meaning your heart might not skip a beat should you ever drop it. As far as its specs are concerned, Tag Heuer did not reveal much, apart from the fact that it had a “high speed processor” and a “customizable 3D user interface”. The phone will arrive at Tag Heuer shops and select retailers this July and will retail for a whopping 2,800 Euros (~$3,700). [Product page] [Press release]
