If you are one of the many people who have been using and enjoying Spotify’s ad-supported free streaming service over the past year, you will be glad to know that the service providers have decided to continue the time for music to remain free for awhile at least, as a thank you gesture for making its past year a memorable one for them. The limits on free music were supposed to be lifted as of January.

According to the official announcement made a spokesperson from Spotify, “Well, it’s now been 9 months since we launched in the U.S, time sure flies when you’re having fun! To celebrate, here’s some great news…Right now, if you’re a free user, you can continue to enjoy millions and millions of tracks without time limits, gimmicks or catches. It’s our way of saying thanks to the U.S!”

With Spotify offering new radio apps along with features such as Songkick, the people over at the current leader in streaming services, Pandora are probably beginning to get nervous as Spotify seems to have repositioned itself to be Pandora’s most formidable competition. What do you think about the extension? Do you still prefer Pandora, or have you made the change to Spotify? Let us know with a comment below.
