Sony “superphone” rumored for a June release
At MWC earlier last week, Sony unveiled a new series of Android handsets, but unfortunately while other companies like HTC and LG were busy making waves with quad-core phones, oddly enough Sony appeared to be sticking to dual-core devices. The company then revealed later in an interview that quad-core devices are on the table for them, but they will be sticking to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 processor for now. So what’s next for Sony? Well a fresh set of rumors has revealed that the company could be planning a “superphone” with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 processor which will be seeing the light of day in June. This device is the LT29i which has been spotted in benchmark tests and is believed to be codenamed “Hayabusa”. It seems odd especially since the Xperia S was meant to be the company’s flagship device, so why would they make it obsolete in a matter of months? Some are speculating that the Hayabusa will probably see a launch in Japan first before making its way to the rest of the world, but until we get more concrete news, we suggest taking this with a grain of salt for now.
