Third software update in four months for Lumia 800 rolling out gradually
A post on Nokia’s blog, Conversations revealed that they have released yet another update for the Lumia 800. The software update will bring the version up to 1600.2487.8107.12070. With the update users will get improvements such as an improved battery performance and power management. While the update was scheduled for 18th April, they have found a way to begin rolling out the update beginning today.
However given the various tweaks needed to adapt to different regions, Nokia will spread out the software update over 4 weeks with first starting today (28 March). The subsequent updates will be on the 4th, 11th and 18th of April. To find out if the update is already available in your region, you can click here. Besides the improved battery performance, Nokia has reportedly improved the audio quality of the device.
On top of that, the company also fixed an issue with the lighting for the soft keys which will now illuminate at all brightness settings. Unfortunately for all you Windows Phone fans out there, the update will not carry the WiFi tethering feature but they assure us that it is in fact, on the way. Have you already checked the update schedule for your region? Most of the models in U.S should have the update waiting for you to download by following the instructions in the video above.
