Samsung Galaxy S receives “value pack” upgrade

A while back when manufacturers were busy announcing Android 4.0 upgrades for their phones, the Samsung Galaxy S was one of the unfortunate few that did not make the cut much to the disappointment of many Galaxy S owners. Samsung attempted to appease the masses by promising a “value pack” upgrade that would bring some of Android 4.0’s features onto the device without it actually being an update.

Well the good news for Galaxy S owners in Korea is that it appears the value pack upgrade has begun to roll out, and some of the features it has brought to the device is the Face Unlock function, the ability to snap photos while shooting videos, launcher improvements among others. We’re not sure when the upgrade will be making its way stateside, but for more info head on down to Samsung’s website for the details. Granted it’s not the Android 4.0 update that many Galaxy S owners were hoping for, but if you’ve upgraded your device with the value pack, we’d love to hear about your experience and if it truly made a difference.
