If built-in projectors in your smartphone sounds like a good idea to you, you might recall that during MWC 2012 in February, the Samsung Galaxy Beam was unveiled. This is not the old Beam device from Samsung, but rather a brand new one with Android on board. Well according to the reports, if you were looking forward to getting your hands on the device, the Galaxy Beam is expected to arrive in India come April, but unfortunately no confirmation of the release date for other countries have yet to be revealed. No word on pricing just yet, but it is expected to retail for $500 off contract.

For those who might have missed the news during our coverage at MWC, the Galaxy Beam will feature a built-in pico projector that is capable of projecting a display of up to 50”. It will feature a 4” WVGA TFT display, a 5MP rear-facing camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, 8GB of internal storage, a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz, a 2,000mAh battery on board and will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread preinstalled, although there was no mention if the device would be seeing an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the near future.
