Rebranded Android Market makes debut as Google Play on Google Toolbar
Google Play has made an appearance at the top of the screen on the toolbar that grace the Google Search and Gmail pages. Earlier this month, Google announced that they would be integrating the App Market, Google Music and Google eBookstore into one (Google Play) online platform that is based on the Cloud to make it a new “digital entertainment destination”.
Not only does Google Play allow users to find and share music, apps, movies and books but it also offers the ability to store digital content online and within your reach at anytime as long as you’re connected. As is illustrated in the picture above, Google Play with the tag ‘New’ has been pinned on the toolbar over Google websites for easy access to users worldwide.
In saying that however, Google Play’s new services are not consistent around the globe as in some regions around the world, it is still just a renamed Android Market but Google does have plans to roll out the content to different regions as it morphs to be able to adapt to each and every digital ecosystem. As reported last week, there might be a chance that Google will be selling movies via the Google Play app instead of just dealing with rentals.
