Phones 4U Samsung event teaser is for a shop re-opening!
Earlier today, we reported that the Samsung Galaxy S3 could be launching as early as 30th March due to a teaser outside a Phones 4U Oxford Street, London branch. However, it seems like we have all been taken for a ride as the teasers weren’t actually teasers but a signboard to tell the patrons that they will only be re-opening (after renovating) on the 30th.
While it did get our libido pumping as we saw the picture above, it is a massive reality check and it begs the repetitive question, “When is the S3 coming?!” So we apologize for exciting not only ourselves but also our dear readers with what was a misinformed piece of information and if you do feel like you want to vent your frustrations on them, go on over to London and take a deep whiff of new paint (at your own risk). Again, if anyone hears anything about the seemingly ‘unicorn’ like device, do let us know with a comment below.
So, there is a new Samsung smartphone that is about to be released – big surprise, that, and I say this with full a sarcasm. Still, those who want something that looks to hang out on the high end side of things in terms of design and form factor, and yet having a mid-range performer within, can always settle for the Samsung Galaxy A9.
The handset has already appeared on the FCC database, which means it has been approved, and listed as the Samsung Galaxy A9. With the green light given, it is but a matter of time before it hits the market. If you would like to fancy your chances with an upcoming mid-range device that seems to hover more on the higher end scheme of things, then the Samsung Galaxy A9 would certainly fit you to a ‘t’, so to speak. After all, accessory manufacturer ITSKINS has shared more details concerning this device, with the Galaxy A9 touted to be a wee bit more compact as opposed to the Galaxy S7 Plus, never mind that both handsets will come with 6.0″ screens.
Measurements of the Galaxy A9 include 161.9mm x 81.3mm x 7.34mm, where it would be slightly taller than the Galaxy Note5, while sporting a metal and glass design, a fingerprint reader that should be able to handle mobile payments, a Full HD Super AMOLED display, and a Snapdragon 620 chipset, among others.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 will no doubt be a smartphone that many people would look forward to picking up when it is ready, taking into consideration how flagship devices are always in demand. Well, the Galaxy S7 has been said to target an early 2016 release, and some photos of the alleged device has already been snapped, although one should take into consideration that the original Weibo post is no longer there.
Of course, do take this particular leak with a pinch of salt, since it could be one of the numerous smartphones from various manufacturers that could roll out a similar looking handset. In the leaked photos, you can see a wrap-around metal border design, which seems to be the in thing at least for the next couple of years. All that we can do now is to sit tight and wait for the real deal to surface.
