Nokia Windows Phone design concept examples show that the company was keen to change UI

Fans of the Metro UI sported by Nokia Lumia devices would be shocked to know that the pictures above signify what might have become of the Nokia Lumia devices. The android-esque graphical interfaces were obtained by our counterparts over at Pocketnow from one of Nokia’s former R&D senior designers who is said to have designed these interfaces. That very same designer who according to Pocketnow has also worked on the Nokia 808 PureView has moved away from the company to Accenture so it is unlikely that these interface changes will ever be implemented on the Lumia devices.

While it has been a known fact that Microsoft gave Nokia a large amount of leeway to redesign it’s UI for the Lumia range, the Finnish Mobile Giants declined to do so. When members of the Pocketnow team approached Nokia about the matter, they were awarded with the claim that the designs were “purely her own personal design explorations and were never part of any project being done for Nokia”. Who are we to judge what the truth actually is without solid truth and it seems like we are far from getting it. Do let us know what you think how the UI changes would have affected your perception of the devices, be it positive or negative, feel free to write it down under the comments window below.
