Nokia has announced the launch of the Lumia 800C smartphone in China. While it is known that Nokia is looking to China to help its rebound after a turbulent year in the smartphone industry, the effort to launch a phone specifically for the Chinese market shows how serious the corporation is. The Lumia 800C is a CDMA variant of the Lumia 800 and is the first CDMA Windows Phone and also the first Nokia Lumia to be launched in China. Nokia has decided to pair-up with China Telecom, operator of the largest CDMA network in China for the smartphones launch.

Apart from the CDMA and localization features added on for the device, the Lumia 800C is still a Lumia 800 that is available in the rest of the world. The phone will feature the same 3.7” ClearBlack AMOLED WVGA resolution display, a body made from a single piece of polyurethane and it will be powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm processor. Just like the standard variation of the Lumia 800, there will also be a rear-facing 8MP camera and it will come with 16GB of internal storage. The device is expected to hit the Chinese market at 3599 RMB ($571) in April. Nokia also says that there are plans to launch the Lumia 610C entry-level Windows Phone also with China Telecom in Q2 of this year.
