LG Revolution receives update and a remote diagnostics tool from Verizon

Published

on

Heads up LG Revolution owners, it looks like an update is headed your way in the form of VS910ZV8. The update will apparently be addressing several bugs, but more interestingly it seems that the update will also be bringing about a certain tool called the Verizon Remote Diagnostics tool, which as the name already implies, is a feature that will allow technical support staff to control your device remotely.

“New customer care solution to improve device issue diagnosis during customer support calls. When a customer calls into Verizon Wireless Customer Care, this solution, with the customer’s permission, allows support personnel to remotely view the user’s device for troubleshooting and application demonstrations.”

We guess Verizon learnt from the whole Carrier IQ controversy and has informed their users ahead of time, but unfortunately it still does not give them the option of refusing the tool unless they decide to forsake the entire update. So what do you guys think? Are there LG Revolution owners out there who are against this diagnostic tool? Pop on over to Verizon’s website for more details about the update.

LG Works On Nuclun 2 Chipset

Published

on

LG-logoLG has been rather quiet about developing its very own mobile chipset design for some time already, where the first Nuclun SoC will soon be followed up by – surprise, surprise, the Nuclun 2. This is not the first time that the Nuclun 2 name was brought up, and up till now, there has been no devices that were released with Nuclun 2 at its heart, although that might change with the upcoming V10 successor if rumors prove to be correct.

In other words, the LG V10’s successor will most probably be released some time in the second half of the coming year, which means it will be some time before it ends up as a shipping product. It also remains to be seen whether the Nuclun 3 will hit the streets in the near future, but as with most other cases, patience is definitely called for.

LG V10 Comes In Gold

Published

on

lg-v10-goldWell, well, what do we have here? Apparently, the recently announced LG V10 smartphone that is obviously one of the high end handsets from the South Korean manufacturer has arrived in a new shade of gold as well – which will definitely give it a far more premium look that what it would normally come in.

This is made possible thanks to the Vietnam-based company that is known as Karalux, where this particular handset has made its way to their portfolio while sporting a gold plating on the outside. According to Karalux, the entire process will take anywhere from three all the way to four non-stop working hours to complete. As the entire shell of the LG V10 happens to be made out of stainless steel, the gold-plating process is hence rather easy and quick – which is a good thing for those impatient magnates out there. The asking price for this process will be approximately $180 thereabouts – any takers?
